Silk Hankies
Each silk hanky, also known as mawata, is formed by stretching silk from cocoons over a square loom and allowed to dry. Each bundle consists of layers of light silk hankies that can be pulled apart, drafted and spun into gorgeous yarn. Knitters can also enjoy hankies by working directly with the hankies, creating unique knitted items. Silk hankies also are a fabulous addition to felting projects, adding a luxurious sheen to the wool.
